![]() ![]() Why would Windows try to load this dll from system32? Btw how does this even work when system32 is a 32 bit environment and the dll is for a 64 bit system, and Sketchup is also a 64 bit application. I'm getting the mfc140u.dll not found, even though I did copy it from syswow64 to system32. I installed the prerequisites but they don't seem to work. I have installed Sketchup in a Win64 prefix with Win7 as the environment. Either the installation stops along the way, or Sketchup crashes when I try to launch it. I have tried every single approach from running wine by hand to using playonlinux. I actually modified the sktop with the following string (you need to edit to match your setup)Įnv WINEPREFIX="/home/patrick/.local/share/wineprefixes/Sketchup2017" WINEDLLOVERRIDES="libglesv2=d" wine C:\\Program\ Files\\SketchUp\\SketchUp\ 2017\\SketchUp.exe 3d Warehouse, Extension Warehouse) After much googling, I found out > that you need to add this to the environment you are launching Sketchup in > if someone stumbles upon this, I did everything listed but still had issues with any of the components > that used webpages. Secondly, for the blank warehouse screens and blank Extension Manager screen I followed the tip as follows: So I restarted the winetricks using the -force option, and then the various installations finally worked.note it can take a long long long time and I actually had to repeat it again and repair installations. ![]() Note that this failed, as it could not remove a package named mono. I have seen this problem, and might suggest two things to try that helped me.įirst use the install how-to at /2021/01/how-to-install-sketchup-2017-make-in.html?showComment=1611270328570#c2543256234296305979. I have placed this file on a ~/script directory an linked it to ~/bin/sketchup2017 in order to have this command in my path and now I can run it on dmenu. I use i3wm so, in order to easily run the app, I have created a script sketchup2017.sh to run the app: ![]() The 5th step may be used to run the software if, like me, you are not on gnome where you can run the generated desktop file (or if it is generated the wrong way). Note: Remember that this is an old software, there is no need to setup the prefix as window 8 or 10.Įnv WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.sketchup2017 wine64 sketchupmake-55-90782-en-圆4.exeĥ - (optionally) Run it by executing this on the command line:Įnv WINEPREFIX="/home/iogui/.sketchup2017" wine64 "C:\\Program Files\\SketchUp\\SketchUp 2017\\SketchUp.exe" Note: If prompted, accept to download and install wine-mono and geckoĮnv WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.sketchup2017 winetricks win7Įnv WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.sketchup2017 winetricks vcrun2019 corefonts Do whatever you think is better):Įnv WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.sketchup2017 wineboot sketchup2017 and located it in my home user folder. On ubuntu you can install those in this way:Ģ - Install the wine prefix (I named mine. I've installed the following packages on my ubuntu to enable a better wine usage and configuration with sketchup make 2017: winbind, cabextract. If you don't have installed it yet, mybe you should. Use winetricks to easy the installation and setup process. I have evolved this installation process with time. My installation process was a little bit different than what is described in the how-to section. I've not tested printing, exporting and some other things. This present installation was more clean with less workarounds. Used winetricks to setup as win7 and install vcrun2019 and corefonts in order to avoid some problems (like a crash of the sketchup_webhelper.exe file).Īlthough I noticed a big improvement on wine compared to my old install on an old Ubuntu 18.04 with wine 5. I don't know if there are other issues in that kind of clean installation. But this only happens if you make a direct installation. Opened files I already have (simple and complex ones), changed things, saved.Īt least a crash of the sketchup_webhelper.exe file on every move you make of the mouse on sketchup screen. I've made a very basic usage, tested the main tools I use, working with layers and so on. Everything that I've tested works fine, including modelling, downloading models from 3DWarehouse, installing plugins and so on. ![]()
